Lisa Edelstein has been an American actress for over twenty years. She is most well-known for her part as a character in House in the series House on Fox. Born in Wayne within a conservative Jewish tradition, she moved into New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in theatre at Tisch School of the Arts. She became very involved with the clubs in New York City, and was able to be recognized in the press. At the same time she began to become conscious of AIDS' devastating effects. In the end, she utilized her education and fame to compose and write a musical called Positive Me and also starred in it. Awake to the Wild Side, a show she hosted for MTV quickly became her new job. Following the end of the series her appearances began in the film and television industry, beginning with small parts, but gradually establishing herself as an actor.
